FASHION STYLING WORKSHOP WITH ERIC POLIQUIT BATCH 2 | Accessories Challenge | Femme Styling

Hi Everyone!

Here we are, in the last week of the 2nd Batch of Fashion Styling Workshop with Eric Poliquit in collaboration with Raffles Design Institute Manila. This time, the participants of the styling workshop were given another surprise styling challenge. An activity that would feature designs from accessories designer Mary Ann Dy, and with the help of their models from Yeoh Models, they created a look using the accessories in a headshot photo shoot requirement for that session.

They Wore Lady Gaga To Lady Gaga | Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball Manila Story from Philippine Daily Inquirer

Hello,

Sharing PDI's article about Lady Gaga's concert here in Manila on today's newspaper.

They wore Lady Gaga to Lady Gaga

By:

Lady Gaga’s two-day concert this week at the Mall of Asia Arena was all about stars and spikes, bubbles and unicorns. Her fans, collectively known as the Little Monsters, came in outlandish costumes, outdoing each other as they watched their Mother Monster perform in a complex castle stage.
For these Little Monsters, “The Born This Way Ball” was about creativity and craziness—never mind comfort.

One fan in the mosh pit watched the two-hour show—in sculpted body armor. Another was in a bubble dress (actually made up of balloons, or condoms?), similar to what Lady Gaga wore on a previous Monster Ball tour and on the cover of Rolling Stone.

We also saw mega-chunky platform shoes in suede, animal print, and leather with serious spikes. There were also visor shades decked with crystals and glass, masks made of broken mirrors, slashed fishnet stockings, and finger-less leather gloves with spikes.

The Arena became a sea of colored wigs, the most we’ve seen in any Manila concert.
We spotted what looked like DIY-studded statement jackets. One was a black denim with “Judas” outlined in pearls, another was airbrushed with a gold unicorn and “Born This Way” in block letters. Both are titles of Lady Gaga’s controversial songs.

Some took inspiration from her music videos, like the guy in silver overalls—reminiscent of the spandex catsuit in “Bad Romance.” A girl used yellow “caution” police-line tape as  headband. Several concert goers donned origami-like headpieces patterned after the iconic blue one in “Telephone.”

The more daring Monsters wore barely-there bondage outfits, like Gaga did in the “Edge of Glory” video.
Lady Gaga opened “The Born This Way Ball” in an Armani black leotard with spikes and sequins, in matching thigh-high boots and elaborate headpiece.

She also wore what looked like a “Gaga-fied” terno, a long latex gown in nude with giant butterfly sleeves, and a mini cutout dress with quilted details, also with structured terno-like butterfly sleeves.
American Vogue called Lady Gaga “Our Lady of Pop.” She is known for her weird, wild and often criticized fashion—which inspires fans to go over the top, dress up in odd materials, and raise their “paws” up to her songs.

FASHION STYLING WORKSHOP WITH ERIC POLIQUIT BATCH 2 | Designer Feature Challenge | Homme Styling

Hello Everyone!

I am sharing the photos from the Fashion Styling Workshop with Eric Poliquit in collaboration with Raffles Design Institute Manila, featuring a styling challenge done by the participants of its 2nd Batch.

The participants were given a surprise challenge, wherein they need to style their chosen PAT GUIMBA creation with their male model for that day. To add some extra spice to the challenge, They too need to create the whole requirement of the shoot, that is to throw a sheer fabric in the most appropriate way that could help each of their layout. Do check their works here:

Preview Magazine Contributors Page

Hello.

I have been busy like crazy, so I haven't updated much of my online pages/identities with the current works and projects I have done Let me start with posting my contributor's photo for this month's Preview Magazine. For those of you who haven't seen the latest issue of the magazine, I have shot a 10-page editorial with the help of Vince Uy, Jigs Mayuga, Jay Wee, Malu Melo, MJ Benitez and my intern Apple Villalobos + lots more awesome individuals.... I will post the photos/credits once I've had time to actually do a post about it. For the mean time, here's what I've said...

What I did for this issue:

I photographed a fashion editorial highly inspired by the sensual visuals of the Spanish/Argentinian/Latin culture. Shot on location in the heart of Intramuros, the editorial showcases the Latin flavor captured under the summer heat
And the experience was...

This was my first time to contribute for the publication, thus, making the experience both exciting and interesting. Knowing who I am working with in producing the editorial, I felt a bit pressured but comforted too in a way, for I know how good the caliber of my team members are. Enjoyed it more and it never felt like I was just trying to shoot an ordinary fashion editorial.

For Mother’s Day, I’m paying tribute to my mom by...

For Mother's Day, I am offering this editorial I photographed as my tribute to my mama.
My summer’s last hurrah will be...

My Summer's last hurrah will be... wait... Summer ends? Felt it all year round.

I beat the heat by/with...

I did not only beat the heat, earned and felt really good treating myself everyday with different delicious flavors of ice candies that my partner and I sell for business in different stores this summer!

VIDEO | TV GUESTING | Wish Ko Lang

Just saw my segment for the show Wish Ko Lang on GMA 7 which I guested together with stylists Eric Poliquit and Liz Uy. I was terribly busy during that Saturday when the show aired, just got off from a shoot without any sleep and was so tired I fell asleep when I got home, failing to catch it on the tube.

But here it is! :)

STUDENT FEATURE | SoFA Manila's Fashion Design Class Haute Couture Photo Shoot Activity

Hi Everyone!

I am back in my studio, from a long hiatus of doing post work and arranging my photo materials, and now, since I have terrible backlogs ... let me start from where I left. These are the photos I took last 27th of April, for the Fashion Design Class of SoFA Manila, headed by Sir Aan Pineda's class. This activity, is a follow-up from our previous class-collaboration activity about my photography students photographing the avant garde creations of the students from their class. Originally, the plan was, to have my students take the actual photos of Aan's class, but due to the lack of availability of the schedule of my students, I just stepped-in and took the photos myself. As a photographer, any avenue where I can share and engage my experience to a fresh and new breed of creative individuals... is always an open idea. As they are randomly arranged, do enjoy the pieces that our students have produced, some being worn by the actual designers themselves, some by a friend, or a fellow classmate.
